Karasu travel guide: places to visit and tips
What to do, where to eat and when to visit Karasu, on Sakarya's Black Sea coast? Here are the tips we share most often with our guests.
Where is Karasu and how do you get there?
Karasu is a district of Sakarya province on the Black Sea coast. It is easy to reach by road from İstanbul and Kocaeli, which makes it a popular choice for weekend breaks and summer holidays. It is also a short drive from central Adapazarı. For directions to the hotel, use the map in our contact section.

Places to visit in Karasu
Karasu Beach
Karasu's signature is its fine sandy beach, stretching for kilometres. It is ideal for swimming and sunbathing in summer, and for shoreline walks and sunsets the rest of the year. When swimming, watch the warning flags and stay in areas with lifeguards; waves and currents on the Black Sea can change quickly.
Acarlar Longoz Forest
Acarlar Longoz is one of Türkiye's most important longoz (flooded) forests. Trees rising out of the water, a lake and reed beds create a unique landscape. It is a must-see in Karasu for anyone who enjoys nature walks, photography or birdwatching.
Karasu Pier and the coastal road
A late-afternoon walk on the pier, watching the sea and having tea in the cafés along the shore is one of the nicest things to do in Karasu.
Day trips
Stay in Karasu and take day trips to the beaches of Kocaali, Lake Sapanca and Maşukiye, or Adapazarı. That way you combine a seaside holiday with lakes and fresh highland air.
What to eat in Karasu
The table is where you really feel you are on the Black Sea coast. Fresh fish in season, cornbread, local greens and a generous traditional breakfast are all musts in Karasu. Ask at our reception for restaurant recommendations.
When to visit Karasu
The busiest beach season runs from June to September. In spring and autumn you will find a quieter shore and ideal weather for walks in the longoz forest. Rooms fill up quickly in summer and during public holidays, so we recommend booking early.
Where to stay in Karasu
Staying in a hotel close to the centre and the beach makes it easy to explore Karasu on foot or with short trips. With clean rooms, breakfast and friendly service, Klas Otel is a comfortable base for your holiday. Step outside and you are surrounded by shops, restaurants and cafés; the beach is about a 30-minute walk or a few minutes by car.
